Zach Wilson Proved He Doesn't Belong in the NFL on Sunday

The New York Jets made a change at quarterback on Sunday, opting to start Mike White over Zach Wilson. It's a decision that worked out in their favor as White threw for 315 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 31-10 victory. It's a decision that also proved Wilson does not belong on an NFL roster right now.

Zach Wilson News

An article released by The Athletic goes into detail about how Wilson's reaction to his benching was far from positive. For example, White came to the bench after leading a stellar touchdown drive and immediately sat with fellow quarterbacks Joe Flacco and Christ Streveler to watch film on a tablet.

Instead of joining as a supportive teammate, Wilson stayed away from the action. He sat alone on the sideline and cameras even caught the blank expression he sported on his face throughout the game. It comes off as an immature way of handling things that only got worse when the score went final.

Avoiding the media is one thing, but not sticking around to celebrate a crucial win with teammates is not exactly the best look. At this point, there's an argument to be made that Wilson is doing more harm than good in the Jets' locker room. It'll be interesting to see what happens at practice this week.

Just one week after Wilson guided the them to only 103 yards of total offense, the Jets logged 466 total yards of offense against the Chicago Bears with White at the helm. It was White's second career game with 300 passing yards (4 starts), which is double the amount Wilson has posted in 20 starts.

The Jets have odds set at -108 to make the NFL Playoffs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
