When is Julius Randle Coming Back for the Knicks? Latest Updates on Ankle Injury

Having a star player go down with an injury at the end of the regular season is the last thing any NBA team wants to happen, but that is what the New York Knicks are dealing with. Let's dive a bit deeper into when Julius Randle may rejoin his teammates after suffering a sprained ankle on Wednesday.

Latest Julius Randle Injury Update

Randle will miss at least two weeks of action with his ankle injury, meaning the earliest he will be back on the court is at the start of the NBA Playoffs. The 28-year-old was in obvious pain after jumping up for a rebound against the Miami Heat and landing on Bam Adebayo's foot on his way back down.

Randle attempted to walk off the issue and hobbled around Madison Square Garden before leaving to go to the locker room. He did shoot a pair of free throws prior to exiting, though, which welcomed MVP chants from the crowd. There's no doubt the ninth-year pro will attack his recovery with tenacity.

This is a big blow for the Knicks as Randle has played in all 77 games of the regular season so far. He leads the team in both points (25.1) and rebounds (10.0) per game while shooting 45.9% from the floor. New York needs him healthy to have a chance at winning a tough first-round playoff matchup.

For now, the Knicks will rely on Jalen Brunson and Immanuel Quickley to guide the team through the final five games of the regular season. New York checks in fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 44-33 record and is tied for the 13th-best odds to win the NBA Finals at +8000, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
