Week 9 Monday Night Football Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Ravens vs Saints

Week 9 Monday Night Football Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Ravens vs Saints

Updated:

Week 9 of the 2022 NFL season concludes with an intriguing matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. Both teams are dealing with injuries to several key players, but FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds list the Ravens as 1.5-point road favorites over the Saints.

If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's our start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 9 Monday Night Football matchup.

Isaiah Likely Fantasy

Start Isaiah Likely, TE, Baltimore Ravens: With primary tight end Mark Andrews (knee/shoulder) ruled out for Monday's contest, Isaiah Likely is set to take on an expanded role. The 22-year-old rookie played great after Andrews departed Week 8's contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, catching 6-of-7 targets for 77 receiving yards and a touchdown -- all season-highs. With Rashod Bateman going on IR this week as well, Likely could end up leading Baltimore in targets this week, making him a nice last-minute replacement for Andrews.

Chris Olave Fantasy

Start Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints: With Michael Thomas going on IR this week and Jarvis Landry listed as questionable for Monday's matchup, Chris Olave is poised to lead New Orleans' receiving corps against Baltimore. Olave is already pacing the Saints in targets (63), receptions (37) and receiving yards (547), but he should draw even more looks from Andy Dalton with Thomas and potentially Landry sidelined. The 2022 first-round pick also has a juicy matchup against a Ravens defense that's allowing the fifth-most passing yards per game in the NFL this year, making him a must-start in this primetime affair.

Baltimore Ravens D/ST Fantasy

Sit Baltimore Ravens D/ST: The Ravens' defensive woes from last year have carried over into this year, as the team remains a below-average unit. Baltimore ranks 18th in points per game allowed and 23rd in yards per game allowed, which doesn't bode well for this matchup against New Orleans' surprisingly explosive offense. The Saints rank eighth in points and third in yards per game, making this a challenging road matchup for the Ravens.

New Orleans Saints D/ST Fantasy

Sit New Orleans Saints D/ST: The Saints may be at home and coming off a shutout victory against the Raiders, but this is not a great matchup for them. New Orleans has been one of the worst defenses in the NFL all season long, giving up the seventh-most points per game (25.0). The Saints also haven't been very opportunistic, forcing just seven turnovers in eight games thus far, including the second-fewest interceptions (2) in the NFL. The Ravens have one of the better offenses in the NFL (fifth in points per game) and take good care of the ball with only nine turnovers so far. Jackson is also impossible for any defense to contain, making this a risky spot for New Orleans.
