Week 5 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Seahawks vs Saints

Week 5 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Seahawks vs Saints

Updated:

The New Orleans Saints will look to snap a three-game losing streak when they host the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5 NFL action. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds list the Saints as 5.5-point home favorites in a game that is full of playmakers on both sides of the football.

If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's our start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 5 NFC showdown.

Tyler Lockett Fantasy

Start Tyler Lockett, WR, Seattle Seahawks: Head coach Pete Carroll has been letting quarterback Geno Smith air it out and Tyler Lockett's fantasy production has been boosted as a result. The former Kansas State standout is averaging 91.3 yards on 8.0 receptions (10.0 targets) per game over the last three weeks. Averaging double-digit PPR fantasy points is definitely nothing to scoff at. Lockett now gets to face a New Orleans team that is allowing the 11th-most PPR fantasy points as well as 13.4 yards per reception to opposing WRs. It may only take one or two big plays for Lockett to crush his projection this weekend.

Chris Olave Fantasy

Start Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints: A quarterback switch from Jameis Winston to Andy Dalton didn't stop rookie wideout Chris Olave from putting together another productive day in Week 4. He logged 67 yards on 4 catches (7 targets) and scored his first NFL touchdown. He now ranks as the 17th-highest scoring WR following three straight weeks of double-digit PPR fantasy points. Fellow WR Michael Thomas is on track to be sidelined again on Sunday, which puts Olave in line to serve as the No. 1 WR on a team desperate for victory. Start the 22-year-old against a Seahawks defense that is allowing 274.0 passing yards per game (No. 28 in NFL).

Will Dissly Fantasy

Sit Will Dissly, TE, Seattle Seahawks: Will Dissly is the perfect tight end to add to your roster and keep stashed on the bench as a high-upside weekly option. It's best not to insert him into your starting lineup right away, though. The Saints have allowed the fewest PPR fantasy points to opposing TEs and have yet to allow someone of the position to score a touchdown. In fact, New Orleans has given up only 86 yards on 12 receptions to TEs all year despite facing the likes of Kyle Pitts and Irv Smith Jr. Be patient with Dissly as his upcoming schedule features a few advantageous matchups.

Mark Ingram Fantasy

Sit Mark Ingram, RB, New Orleans Saints: Fantasy managers have to be careful with running back Mark Ingram on Sunday. If starting ball-carrier Alvin Kamara is ruled out due to his rib injury, they may feel that the veteran backup is worth a start in the FLEX. That just isn't the case, though. Ingram has tallied a combined 88 yards on 20 carries and 16 yards on 5 receptions in his two games played without Kamara this year. He didn't reach the end zone in either of those games, either. New Orleans leaned on Latavius Murray over Ingram in Week 4 and could do the same with Tony Jones in Week 5. There's too much risk involved to confidently start anyone in this backfield.
