Week 5 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Cowboys vs Rams

Week 5 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Cowboys vs Rams

Updated:

The Dallas Cowboys will look to extend their winning streak to four games when they visit the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5 NFL action. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds list the Rams as 5.5-point home favorites in a game that is features two offenses guided by big-time names.

If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's our start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 5 NFC showdown.

Michael Gallup Fantasy

Start Michael Gallup, WR, Dallas Cowboys: Wide receiver Michael Gallup made his highly anticipated return to the field in Week 5 after working his way back from a torn ACL. Dallas' cautious approach in his recovery allowed him to play in 64% of the offensive snaps and that number should increase in Week 5. Gallup also showcased his skills with a touchdown catch against the Washington Commanders. The 26-year-old has a chance to make a noticeable impact on Sunday considering the Rams are giving up the second-most PPR fantasy points to opposing WRs. That includes 6 receiving touchdowns allowed to the position. Gallup is a sneaky FLEX play this week.

Tyler Higbee Fantasy

Start Tyler Higbee, TE, Los Angeles Rams: The Cowboys' defense has shut down one offense after another this season, which makes it hard to defend starting anyone but wide receiver Cooper Kupp on the Rams' offense. Tight end Tyler Higbee has been one of quarterback Matthew Stafford's favorite targets, though. The seventh-year pro has logged at least 5 catches or 60 receiving yards in each game this season. It has provided him with a high floor that is not often seen at the TE position. Higbee saw a whopping 14 targets in Week 4 and has already seen 5 red zone targets in 2022. A touchdown against the Cowboys would solidify a top-12 weekly finish.

Dalton Schultz Fantasy

Sit Dalton Schultz, TE, Dallas Cowboys: Gallup wasn't the only Cowboys player to make a return from an injury in Week 4. Tight end Dalton Schultz was back after missing the team's Week 3 contest with a knee issue. However, it was a disappointing effort for Schultz as he failed to haul in any of his 3 targets despite playing in 90% of the offensive snaps. The 26-year-old now has to face a Rams' defense that has shut down one TE after another in 2022. In fact, LA has yet to allow an opposing TE to score a touchdown and has given up the fewest PPR fantasy points to the position. It's be best to keep Schultz on your bench for now.

Allen Robinson Fantasy

Sit Allen Robinson, WR, Los Angeles Rams: Fantasy managers continue to wait for a breakout performance from wide receiver Allen Robinson. The first-year Ram did haul in a touchdown pass in Week 2, but he has combined for just 42 yards on 5 receptions in the other three weeks combined. This does not line up to be the matchup in which Robinson asserts himself as a reliable target for Stafford. The Cowboys have posted the fifth-best pass defense DVOA rating in the NFL and are allowing the 10th-fewest PPR fantasy points to opposing WRs. Robinson should stay on your bench until he provides a reason to justify starting him.
