Week 4 Sunday Night Football Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Chiefs vs Buccaneers

Week 4 of the NFL season includes a Sunday Night Football showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds show the Buccaneers as 1-point favorites in this potential Super Bowl LVII preview.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Fantasy

Start JuJU Smith-Schuster, WR, Kansas City Chiefs: As Patrick Mahomes looks for a Tyreek Hill-like connection with his receivers, JuJu Smith-Schuster has emerged as one of the quarterback's go-to targets. He might only be the WR47 in PPR, but his 6.3 targets per game should yield results sooner than later. The Buccaneers' defenders are good, but the unit does give up the 16th-most fantasy points to wideouts. The Green Bay Packers WR room scored two TDs against Tampa Bay last week and with this likely being a back-and-forth affair, I like Smith-Schuster's chances of finishing somewhere in WR2/3 territory.

Mike Evans Fantasy

Start Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Man, did Tom Brady ever miss Mike Evans last week. While the talented wideout served a one-game suspension, all of Tampa Bay's wideouts finished with forgettable performances outside of Russell Gage's 12-catch, 87-yard night (plus a TD). Evans is usually Brady's favorite target; something that'll be even truer if any of Gage, Chris Godwin or Julio Jones are absent after the trio was limited in practice this week. Brady will do everything in his power to outplay Mahomes, which should include a plethora of targets to Evans, who has averaged over 18 fantasy points in two games against the Chiefs.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Fantasy

Sit Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Kansas City Chiefs: Clyde Edwards-Heliare might be Kansas City's starting running back, but you wouldn't know that from his usage. The former first-round pick has seen no more than eight carries through the first three games and though he might be the RB4 thus far, most of his production has come from a two-touchdown performance in Week 1. The Indianapolis Colts held CEH to zero rushing yards on seven carries and now he gets a matchup against the Bucs, who give up the fewest fantasy points to RBs. Edwards-Helaire certainly has FLEX appeal due to his role in the passing game, however, don't expect a matchup-saving performance against a defense that hasn't allowed a rusher into the end zone yet.

Cole Beasley Fantasy

Sit Cole Beasley, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Managers might consider picking up Cole Beasley if any of Tampa Bay's wideouts are sidelined again. While that's a decent idea on paper, Beasley was hardley impressive with his 4.2 PPR points last week. This game might turn into a shootout, but don't count on Beasley seeing many targets if the likes of Jones and/or Godwin make their return alongside Evans. After all, Brady loves his weapons that he has chemistry with. Throw in the fact that Beasley has been kept to fewer than 50 yards in eight of his last 11 games and hasn't scored a touchdown in almost a year, look elsewhere if you need a roster filler.
