Week 3 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Bills vs Dolphins

Week 3 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Bills vs Dolphins

Updated:

Two high-powered offenses meet in Week 3 as the Buffalo Bills take on the Miami Dolphins. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds list the Bills as 6.5-point favorites in a game that's expected to feature plenty of scoring.

If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's our start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 3 AFC East showdown.

Gabriel Davis Fantasy

Start Gabriel Davis, WR, Buffalo Bills: A surprise ankle injury kept Gabriel Davis out of lineups in Week 2, clearing the way for Stefon Diggs to explode. Assuming Davis is back, he should slot right back in as a legit complement to Diggs in this pass-heavy offense. Davis played in 98% of the team's offensive snaps to begin the year, recording 4 receptions, 88 yards and 1 touchdown. The TD score was particularly encouraging since Buffalo schemed Davis open near the red zone, proving he should be a real factor in scoring position throughout the year. Miami is giving up the 10th-most passing yards through the first two games and will likely key in on Diggs, presenting a major opportunity for Davis to take advantage of.

Tua Tagovailoa Fantasy

Start Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa's breakout season may finally be upon us, and managers can't afford to miss out on the fireworks. Tagovailoa is coming off of an otherworldly performance, throwing for 469 yards and 6 TDs in a stunning comeback win against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2. Miami's additions to his receiving corps and offensive line are paying obvious dividends that set him up to succeed, even against a stingy Buffalo defense. Though the Bills are allowing the fewest PPR points to WRs this season, they haven't faced a group like Miami's. Tagovailoa should be very active as a passer with the Dolphins expected to be in a shootout given the 52.5-point over/under.

Devin Singletary Fantasy

Sit Devin Singletary, RB, Buffalo Bills: Devin Singletary's outlook in the Buffalo backfield is looking grim. Singletary should've benefitted from the Bills blowing out the Tennessee Titans this past Monday. Instead, he saw just 10 opportunities (6 rushes plus 4 targets) and managed a meager 4.1 PPR points. It's very clear that the Bills prefer to pummel their opponents through the air rather than on the ground, which significantly hurts Singletary's upside. He's also splitting rushing work with James Cook (12 carries this season) and receiving looks with Zack Moss (7 targets in 2022). Singletary falling into a full-blown committee makes him a must-avoid in lineups.

Chase Edmonds Fantasy

Sit Chase Edmonds, RB, Miami Dolphins: Chase Edmonds is another running back that took a major step back in Week 2. Edmonds went from a solid 16 opportunities (12 rushes plus 4 targets) in Week 1 to just 8 (5 rushes, 3 targets) this past Sunday. His decline directly led to Raheem Mostert becoming the featured back, as the latter paced Miami with 11 rushing attempts and tied Edmonds with 3 targets. It's very possible these RBs flip-flop as the Dolphins' preferred option on the ground throughout the season, which limits the fantasy potential of both. Managers should look elsewhere with Edmonds' role very uncertain.
