Week 12 Monday Night Football Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Steelers vs Colts (Fade Both QBs in Primetime)

Updated:
Week 12 of the 2022 NFL season winds down with an intriguing AFC matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football. Both teams have underperformed this year relative to expectations, although the Colts are listed as 2.5-point home favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's our start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 12 Monday Night Football matchup.
Pat Freiermuth Fantasy
Start Pat Freiermuth, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers: Pat Freiermuth has been a consistent part of Pittsburgh's passing attack all season, especially since Chase Claypool was traded to the Chicago Bears. Freiermuth has drawn at least 7 targets in each of his last four games and is coming off a season-high 12 targets in Week 11, which he turned into 8 catches for 79 yards. The big tight end is clearly locked in as one of Kenny Pickett's top weapons and should be busy again in Week 12, making him a mid-range TE1.
Parris Campbell Fantasy
Start Parris Campbell, WR, Indianapolis Colts: Parris Campbell has surpassed Alec Pierce as the Colts' No. 2 receiver behind Michael Pittman Jr., ranking second on the team in targets (60), catches (44) and receiving yards (440). Campbell has come on strong after a slow start to the season, averaging 5.5 receptions, 7.5 targets, 54.7 receiving yards and 0.5 touchdowns over his last six games (just under 14.0 PPR points per game). With opposing defenses keying in on Pittman, Campbell has found plenty of room to operate and is flourishing as a result.
Kenny Pickett Fantasy
Sit Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers: Kenny Pickett has provided some fantasy appeal with his legs this year and is also coming off one of his best passing performances of the season. That said, the 24-year-old's rookie campaign has been marked by inconsistency, as he's yet to reach 200 passing yards in consecutive games. This is also his first time playing on Monday Night Football, so he may struggle a bit under the pressure. With nearly three times as many interceptions (8) as passing touchdowns (3), Pickett should only be started in two-quarterback leagues.
Matt Ryan Fantasy
Sit Matt Ryan, QB, Indianapolis Colts: Matt Ryan is back under center for the Colts after briefly giving way to Sam Ehlinger, but fantasy managers shouldn't rush to plug him back into their lineups. Ryan has assumed more of a game-manager role under new head coach Jeff Saturday, which limits his fantasy upside. The former NFL MVP has 435 passing yards and only 1 passing TD over his last two games combined, which is merely a continuation of his underwhelming season numbers so far. Ryan's 10:9 TD/INT ratio through nine games confirms that his QB1 days are a thing of the past, rendering him a QB2 for fantasy purposes.
