Washington Commanders Training Camp Dates, Schedule & Location 2022

Teams across the NFL are preparing to ramp up for the 2022 regular season with the start of training camp. The Washington Commanders are one of the last squads to take the field as the preseason nears.

Here's everything Commanders fans need to know about training camp this year.

When Does Washington Commanders Training Camp Start?

Each team has two separate start dates for training camp, as rookies are often required to report a few days before veterans. That isn't the case for the Commanders, whose veterans and rookies will both be reporting on Tuesday, July 26.

This gives just two weeks to prepare for the team's first preseason game on Aug. 13.

Commanders rookies and veterans will report for training camp on July 26. Washington will then host practices to get ready for its first preseason game on Aug. 13.

The Commanders' first preseason game is at home against the Carolina Panthers. Washington also plays again on Aug. 20 (@ Kansas City Chiefs) and Aug. 27 (@ Baltimore Ravens).

The Commanders will suit up on Sunday, Sept. 11 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1 of the 2022 campaign.

Commanders Training Camp News

There's a distinct possibility that Commanders fans won't see defensive end Chase Young at training camp. The 23-year-old tore his ACL in Week 10 last year, leaving his camp status up in the air.

While some reports point to Young potentially beginning the 2022 campaign on the PUP list, he was spotted practicing with two-time Super Bowl champion Von Miller just last week.

Obviously, there's no telling just how far Young is from a return based on a tweet. However, if he's at least healthy enough to practice to some extent, perhaps he'll be able to take the field sometime during the preseason at least.
