VIDEO: Nick Saban Highlights From 1968 High School Football Playing Days are an Incredible Throwback

Updated:

It's no secret that Nick Saban is one of the best head coaches the college football world has ever seen. His sustained dominance at the helm in Alabama has been incredible.

But before he was a coach, Saban played the game himself. This highlight video from his high school football playing days in 1968 is a pretty insane throwback.

The footage isn't the clearest, but it's still amazing to see. Saban looked to be a pretty mobile quarterback, getting it done through the air and with his feet. He got it done on defense as well, which was a nice precursor to his ability to be more than just a coordinator in his coaching career.

Of course, it's probably for the best that Saban's playing career didn't last long, and that he became a graduate assistant coach at Kenta State way back in 1973.
