Top Fantasy Football Streaming Tight Ends for Week 2
Crashing the waiver wire after Week 1 to find those diamonds in the rough is a perfect way to build a balanced fantasy football roster for Week 2 and beyond. With how shallow the tight end position can be, adding players that showed up for their squads and have future upside in the best way to go.
With that being said, here's a look at three of the top streaming tight ends, rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues, to target in Week 2.
Fantasy Football Tight Ends
3. Gerald Everett, LAC (28% Rostered)
Gerald Everett was a name many fantasy managers overlooked in drafts this year and he proved why that was a mistake in Week 1. The veteran pass-catcher hauled in 3 of his 4 targets for 54 yards and 1 touchdown while playing in 66% of the offensive snaps. He remains a go-to target for Justin Herbert in an offensive scheme that favors the pass over the run. The Kansas Chiefs aren't deep at the linebacker position and already gave up a touchdown to Zach Ertz in Week 1. Everett could be in for a big day on Thursday night and is worth a start.
2. Taysom Hill, NO (12% Rostered)
Many people thought the Saints' gadget usage of Taysom Hill would be a forgotten memory now that Sean Payton isn't in charge. However, that wasn't the case in Week 1. Hill tallied for 83 total yards and 1 touchdown on 5 touches. The fact that he garnered five touches on only 16 offensive snaps goes to show the level of trust he has already built with head coach Dennis Allen. Hill was the team's entire offense in the first half against the Atlanta Falcons and is listed as a TE in fantasy football leagues. He's a clear red zone threat against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
1. Hayden Hurst, CIN (10 % Rostered)
Consistent targets are a key aspect of finding a reliable tight end in fantasy football. Hayden Hurst saw a whopping 8 targets in Week 1, which ranked as the fifth-highest mark at the position. He hauled in five of those targets for 46 yards and played in 75% of the offensive snaps. The Bengals posted the 11th-highest passing play percentage in 2021 and passed the ball 53 times on Sunday. Quarterback Joe Burrow clearly isn't afraid to sling the ball and that favors Hurst from a fantasy perspective. Pick up Hurst as your TE2 and consider starting him if your TE1 struggled in Week 1.
