Top Fantasy Football Streaming Quarterbacks for Week 6

Updated:

Week 5 of the NFL season featured more disappointing outings from a few highly drafted quarterbacks. However, some waiver-wire QBs came through in a big way.

If you need to make a change at QB in Week 6, here are our top three streaming quarterback picks (rostered in fewer than 50% of Yahoo! leagues) to target on the waiver wire.

3. Daniel Jones, New York Giants (22%)

Daniel Jones has been a serviceable quarterback option all season. He's scored at least 12 fantasy points in every game thanks to his rushing production (46.0 yards per game) giving him a solid floor. New York will continue to rely on his legs due to its decimated receiving corps, and his rushing touchdown potential boosts his upside even if his passing numbers are unspectacular. He draws a very favorable matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6, who are giving up the fourth-most fantasy points per game to QBs this season. Jones is a relatively safe bet who could plug an injury- or bye-related hole in your lineup.

2. Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers (26%)

Jimmy Garoppolo is coming off of his best game of the season in Week 5, setting 2022 highs in passing yards (253), touchdowns (2) and fantasy points (18.02). It's nice to see him find a groove after starting slow, and he's in a great spot to keep things going on Sunday. The Atlanta Falcons are allowing the fourth-most passing yards per game, which has helped opposing QBs put up the 11th-most fantasy PPG against them so far. Garoppolo should find success against this vulnerable secondary on the road.

1. Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks (36%)

Geno Smith is a legitimate starting QB option going forward. After putting up 31.7 fantasy points in Week 4, he exploded again for 24.02 against a tough New Orleans Saints defense this past Sunday. Now the veteran will face an Arizona Cardinals secondary that ranks sixth-worst in Football Outsiders' pass-defense DVOA metric. Quarterbacks have thrived against the Cardinals, recording a healthy average of 19.52 FPPG (eighth-highest in the league) against them this season. Making Smith even more attractive is the fact this matchup has the second-highest over/under (51.5) of the Week 6 slate on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds, meaning plenty of points should be scored in this potential shootout. Expect Smith to be very busy after Seattle lost starting RB Rashaad Penny this past week.
