Titans Playing Coy With Treylon Burks Update After Early Exit From Practice

Tennessee Titans fans are holding their breath after seeing rookie wide receiver Treylon Burks exit practice on Wednesday with an injury. The hope is that it is a minor issue and not a major one. Even though Burks left with a trainer, head coach Mike Vrabel played coy when asked for an update.

Vrabel had nothing to give reporters after practice concluded. He did not provide any information on what the injury is, how severe it is expected to be or if Burks will have to miss any time on the field. Everyone outside of the Titans organization is being left in the dark for seemingly the rest of the day.

People are quick to assume the worst, already speculating that Vrabel had to stay quiet because the news was not good news. However, the veteran coach has never been forthright with information before and it's certainly possible that tests are still being done. There's no reason to worry yet.

On the bright side, Burks played well during a joint practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He even hauled in a one-handed touchdown pass along the sideline in a 1-on-1 rep. It was an impressive play that highlighted what Burks has always been praised for. That's an ability to make contested catches.

Vrabel stressed that every rep is important, so look for Burks to see snaps in Tennessee's preseason game on Saturday if he is healthy enough to do so. The Titans head into that game as a 3-point home favorite against the Bucs with odds set at -145 on the moneyline, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
