Tiger Woods Updated Masters Odds 2023 Heading Into Round 2

The 2023 Masters is officially underway with Round 1 playing out on Thursday.

The player who had the most anticipated Round 1 amongst fans was of course Tiger Woods. The greatest of all time hasn't stepped on a course in months and finished 47th in the 2022 Masters, leaving many to wonder how he would perform this time around.

Now back at one of his favorite courses, Woods had a rough first day at Augusta. He didn't take himself entirely out of contention, but a 74 (2 over par) is probably not how he wanted to start his week in Georgia.

Tiger faltered early, moving all the way back to 3 over par at one point. Then his putter woke up and he drained two clutch birdie putts on holes 15 and 16. After failing to get back to even par on 17, Woods bogeyed 18 and finished the day at 74.

This leaves Tiger in a tie for 54th place heading into Round 2 on Friday, where he will need to put up a better number and make up some ground if he hopes to make the cut and continue playing this weekend.

Tiger Woods Odds to Win The Masters 2023 Following Round 1

After a disappointing opening Round 1 on Thursday, Woods finds himself fighting to make the cut on Friday. He opened the tournament with +7000 odds to win the event but now sits at +27000 odds to finish first according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest Masters odds.

If he's able to make the comeback, Tiger would net his sixth career Masters win, which would tie him with Jack Nicklaus for most ever.
