Steelers Get Some Good News at Tight End With Pat Freiermuth Still Sidelined

The Pittsburgh Steelers entered the week with some injury trouble at tight end. While they aren't entirely out of the woods just yet, things are moving in the right direction.

Pat Freiermuth Injury Update

Tight end Pat Freiermuth remains in concussion protocol and his status for Week 6 is still in doubt, but fellow tight end Zach Gentry says he will be ready to suit up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week.

While Freiermuth was a limited participant in practice on Thursday, he still hasn't been cleared for game action. Freiermuth has gotten off to a solid start this season, hauling in 20 catches for 235 yards and a touchdown for a Steelers offense that has struggled mightily through five weeks.

If Freiermuth can't go, Gentry will step in as the primary starter in Week 6. He does have 8 catches for 85 yards this season, so he has the ability to contribute on offense.
