Star Free Agent Teases Interest in Signing With Broncos

Updated:

The first day of free agency was a busy one for the Denver Broncos, who improved both their offensive and defensive line right out of the gate. Many Broncos fans are now wondering what's next after this initial wave of deals.

Though Denver's already made some big additions, it turns out the front office may not be done just yet.

Current free agent safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson has seemingly expressed interest in the Broncos with his latest social media activity. Some eagle-eyed Twitter users noticed Gardner-Johnson's most recent follows on Instagram were Denver's team account, plus players Jerry Jeudy and Pat Surtain.

It's hard not to read into this as Gardner-Johnson sending a subtle message. Players using social media to tease major changes has become increasingly more common in this era, and this follow spree could be the next to join the list of examples.

The thought of bringing in CJGJ after his 2022 campaign is tantalizing. He enjoyed a massive breakout in his fourth NFL season, leading the league with six interceptions as a key part of the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl run.

Adding Gardner-Johnson to a secondary that already features Surtain and Justin Simmons could be just what Denver's defense needs to bounce back in 2023.
