Seahawks Fans Show Thanks to Lions With Amazing Charitable Gesture
After being talked about and projected as one of the worst teams heading into this season, the Seattle Seahawks are playoff bound. Seattle entered Week 18 needing to win and then also get some help from the Detroit lions, who would have to go into Lambeau Field and beat the Green Bay Packers.
Seattle took care of its own business, defeating the Los Angeles Rams 19-16 in overtime. Then all the Seahawks could do was wait and watch while the Lions, who all of a sudden had nothing to play for other than pride, tried to topple the red-hot Green Bay Packers, at one of the toughest places to play in all of football. Well, Dan Campbell and the Lions did exactly that and the Seahawks made the playoffs.
To thank the Lions for their efforts, Seahawks fans have been flooding the Lions charities wirth donations, a lot of them for $12 to signify the 12th-man, a moniker Seahawks fans go by.
This has become one of the best and most heartwarming traditions in the NFL. Fanbases donating to charities of other teams and players that have helped out thier onw team. Regardless of the reasoinging, however trvial or childish some may view it as, it's nothing short of awesome. Eveey penny counts for non-profit organizations, some in desperate need of funds to help their cause, whatever it may be.
This is the power of sports, and it's one of the great things about the game and it's fans that can never be knocked or taken away.
