Santa Anita Horse Racing Picks for Sunday 5/7/23

Santa Anita Horse Racing Picks for Sunday 5/7/23

Updated:

The rebranded spring portion of the Santa Anita six-month racing season started on Friday, April 21 with a new moniker – the “Hollywood Meet."

There are 9 races at "The Great Race Place" on Sunday, including a stakes race. Post time is at 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. local time.

As always, check the program for scratches and changes, and monitor the weather track conditions.

(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races after adjusting for track, distances, and conditions).

Santa Anita Betting

According to numberFire horse racing projections and Guaranteed Tip Sheet (GTS), these are some of the best bets to make at FanDuel Racing today.

Did you follow FanDuel Racing picks and cash in on the biggest longshot in a recent Allowance race at Keeneland? Longshot Time For Trouble (18/1) cashed $2 win bets for $37.50 and a $2 exacta paid $189. At Santa Anita, top pick Pequena Tormenta (2/1) won recently by 11 lengths, and the April 22 card at Santa Anita went 3-for-3 winners including a pair of stakes races.

Mobile betting on horse racing is easy with the best-in-class experience at FanDuel.

Race 3 is the $100,000 Singletary Stakes for 3-year-olds at 1 1/8 miles on the turf. The numberFire data picks the favorite Mi Hermano Ramon (2/1) to win from the rail with top turf jockey Umberto Rispoli riding. Guaranteed Tip Sheet has Mi Hermano Ramon as a best bet.

Mi Hermano Ramon drops in class and should have her best action late. Wizard of Westwood (5/2) tied for the top speed figures in his first route last race, according to GTS. Game Time (5/2) is a top board hitter by both tip sheets and he's ridden by the meet's top jockey, Juan Hernandez.

2. Kiss My Kat and Big Bell, Race 4

FanDuel Racing Odds: 8/5 and 3/1

Race 4 is Claiming race for fillies and mares sprinting 6 furlongs. Both numberFire and Guaranteed Tip Sheet land on the favorite Kiss My Kat (8/5) as the winner. She's won her last two races, including her first race against winners here on April 23. That's enough for GTS to make her a best bet.

Both tip sheets have Big Bell (5/1) and Trojan Way (3/1) projected to finish top 3 and in the money with leading jockey Ramon Vazquez riding Big Bell from the outside 7 post.

3. Cowboy Mike and Andy Can U Hear Me, Race

FanDuel Racing Odds: 5/2 and 6/1

Race 6 is a Maiden Special Weight for Cal-breds sprinting 6 furlongs. There will be a full field of 12 runners striding down the stretch looking for their first win. The numberFire data projects Andy Can U Hear Me (6/1) along with GTS's top pick Cowboy Mike (5/2) to duel for the win.

Cowboy Mike finished a close third as the even-money favorite on debut here a month ago. Top jockey Juan Hernandez rides again for trainer Bob Baffert.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
