Santa Anita Horse Racing Picks for Saturday 6/3/23

Updated:
The rebranded spring portion of the Santa Anita six-month racing season started on Friday, April 21 with a new moniker – the “Hollywood Meet."
There are 9 races on Saturday's card at "The Great Race Place", including a Grade 2. Post time is at 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. local time.
As always, check the program for scratches and changes and monitor the weather and track conditions.
(I will reference Equibase's Speed Figure in selected races, which tells you how fast a horse has been running in each of its races after adjusting for track, distances, and conditions).
Santa Anita Betting

The May 27 card at Santa Anita produced a pair of stakes race winners on these pages. Did you also follow FanDuel Racing picks and cash at Santa Anita and top pick Pequena Tormenta, an 11-length winner? The April 22 card at Santa Anita went 3-for-3 winners including a pair of stakes races, plus two more winners on May 12 including an Exacta score.
FanDuel Racing's May 19 picks at Pimlico went 3-for-3 and produced an 11/1 winner on Taxed in the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes that also paid $190 on a $2 exacta bet.

1. Mucho Del Oro and Jetovator, Race 3
FanDuel Racing Odds: 9/5 and 8/5

Race 3 is a Starter Optional Claimer for older horses at 6 1/2 furlongs on the turf. Just 5 runners, and numberFire projects low payoff potential with the favorite Jetovator (8/5) expected to win. Guaranteed Tip Sheet rates him tops along with Mucho Del Oro (9/5), who is 0-for-2 this year but won three straight races last year with triple-digit speed figures. Jetovator loves this track with five wins, and he's in better current form with a win and runner-up finish this year.
2. Nang Singha and Miss Joannie, Race 4
FanDuel Racing Odds: 3/1 and 5/2

Race 4 is a Maiden Claimer for fillies and mares sprinting 6 furlongs. Both numberFire and Guaranteed Tip Sheet have Miss Joannie (5/2) as a top win contender, but GTS has a best bet on Nang Singha (3/1), who finished runner-up three straight races last year and makes her 2023 debut.
3. The Alys Look and Doinitthehardway, Race 8
FanDuel Racing Odds: 5/2 and 3/1

Race 8 is the $200,000 Grade 2 Summertime Oaks for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles. The Alys Look (5/2) is the top pick by numberFire's data followed by And Tell Me Nolies (4/1) and Window Shopping (5/1). Guaranteed Tip Sheet prefers Anywho (3/1), who is unbeaten in two races and is working well. The Alys Look ran the highest last-race speed figure, per GTS. Doinitthehardway (3/1) has won 2-of-3 at Santa Anita for trainer Bob Baffert, and the meets top jockey Juan Hernandez rides again following last months 2-length win here.
