Rumors Link Chiefs to International Game in 2023

Updated:

The NFL's international series of games this season continued with a successful return to Germany in Week 10. Many were impressed by the atmosphere and energy from the local fans, prompting some to wonder who will play in front of this crowd in 2023.

Well, one potential leak suggests it'll be the Kansas City Chiefs playing in Germany next year.

Will Gavin of talkSPORT captured a photo of an ad near the Munich Airport that shows Chiefs star Travis Kelce with the caption "Coming soon". With the NFL's German slate already wrapped, this seems to indicate Kansas City will be playing overseas in 2023.

There has been some speculation regarding a Chiefs-Germany game. KC was one of four teams awarded marketing rights in the area this past offseason, and they have connections to soccer club FC Bayern Munich, whose stadium hosted this year's NFL contest.

Rookie Joshua Williams also may have let the news slip this offseason after he said in a YouTube video that the Chiefs would be playing in Germany in 2023.

Given all of these signs, it appears Kansas City could be part of the NFL's international schedule next season. Chiefs fans will likely have to wait until this offseason, though, to see if these rumors turn out to be true.
