Ravens-Odell Beckham Jr. Rumors Continue to Swirl

Several teams are in the hunt to land free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. One squad thought of as a great landing spot for the wideout is the Baltimore Ravens, who have an obvious need at the position.

A new rumor has added fuel to the fire involving Baltimore and OBJ.

CBS Sports insider Josina Anderson reports "conversations continue" between the Ravens and Beckham. They're not among the three teams who currently have a visit lined up with the free agent, but it's clear there's interest on both sides.

Baltimore has an obvious hole at the top of its wide receiver depth chart after losing No. 1 target Rashod Bateman for the rest of the season. The likes of Devin Duvernay, Demarcus Robinson and James Proche are now being depended upon to help take the pressure off of star tight end Mark Andrews. While that trio has been solid for now, they'd be a glaring weakness come playoff time.

Adding a three-time Pro Bowler like Beckham to the mix would provide a serious boost. The star wideout's presence alone would command significant attention from opponents, helping free up the Ravens' supporting weapons. If he also returns to the form that helped the Los Angeles Rams win the Super Bowl, then he'd give Lamar Jackson a true top WR target alongside Andrews.

Baltimore owning one of the NFL's best records (and having the sixth-best Super Bowl odds on FanDuel Sportsbook) should certainly help the organization's pitch to OBJ. The chance to play a big role for a championship contender could lead to the Ravens getting a meeting at the very least.
