Potential Chip Caray Replacements Revealed After Leaving for Cardinals

Updated:

The Atlanta Braves were hit with an unexpected departure this week after it was revealed that longtime television play-by-play broadcaster Chip Caray was leaving for a different role. Caray, famously known as the grandson of the legendary Harry Caray, is staying with Bally Sports and moving to their Midwest division to cover the St. Louis Cardinals after covering Atlanta for the last three decades.

A list of potential replacements at Bally Sports South has already been revealed.

According to Braves insider Mark Bowman, the list of replacements includes Tom Hart and Ben Ingram.

Ingram may be a name more familiar to Braves fans. He's worked as a play-by-play announcer for Atlanta's radio booth since 2019 and has been connected to the organization since 2011.

Hart, on the other hand, spent a brief time covering the Braves as an on-field reporter from 2011-14. He's primarily worked in college athletics and currently does play-by-play for the SEC Network.

Caray's departure is a sad update for Atlanta, but one that comes with strong family ties. His grandfather Harry spent half of his legendary career covering the Cardinals, making this a sort of emotional reunion for Chip.
