Photo from 1910 of TY Cobb and Honus Wagner is an Incredible Throwback

Baseball's long, storied history can make it hard to compile any definitive list of the game's all-time greatest players. One of the few near-consensus top-10 picks, however, is Ty Cobb. Honus Wagner also falls in plenty of top-10 lists, and you won't find many people who don't include him in the top-20.

Cobb and Wagner's careers overlapped for 13 years in the early 1900s, and that overlap led to this incredible photo.

The timing of this photo is especially great. In 1910 Wagner was coming off one of the best three-year stretches in the history of baseball. From 1907 to 1910 he led the National League in batting average in three consecutive years, also leading the MLB in on-base percentage in two of the years.

The American League counterpart that the 36-year-old Wagner hadn't been able to beat out for the MLB's highest batting average in 1907 and 1909? The Detroit Tigers' 22-year-old star Ty Cobb.

The age difference really shows through in this picture, with the baby-faced Cobb almost looking star-struck to be shaking hands with Wagner.

This photo is a truly great piece of baseball history.
