P.J. Walker Reveals Return Timeline From Ankle Injury

Updated:

P.J. Walker has been the starting quarterback for the Carolina Panthers after injuries and poor play knocked out Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield from attempting to do the job. However, Walker suffered an injury himself in Week 10, leaving his Week 11 status up in the air.

P.J. Walker Injury Update

On Monday, Walker revealed that his ankle is at only about 50-55 percent, but he does expect to play in Week 11.

While roughly 50 percent doesn't sound like a comforting number, it is still only Monday, giving Walker five more full days to get his ankle in a good enough spot to play. If Walker is unable to play, Mayfield will be in line to get the start under center.

Mayfield has been awful when he's played this season, though. The Panthers are 1-4 in his starts and he's got a completion percentage well under 60 percent (56.6%). He will have to be much improved if the Panthers want to have a chance at competing without Walker.

The Panthers are 12-point road underdogs against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
