Nuggets vs Suns Prediction, Odds & Best Bet for March 31 (Phoenix Fends Off Injury-Plagued Denver)

The Phoenix Suns (41-35) are set to play host to the Denver Nuggets (51-25) in a massive NBA Western Conference showdown on Friday, March 31.

Nuggets vs Suns Game Info

  • Date: Friday, March 31, 2023
  • Time: 10:30 PM ET
  • Venue: Footprint Center -- Phoenix, Arizona

The Nuggets' four-game winning streak was snapped with a 107-88 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans less than 24 hours ago. On the other side, the Suns hope to extend their winning ways to four consecutive games following Thursday's 107-100 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Can the Nuggets prove that their latest loss was a fluke? Or will the Suns send the Footprint Center crowd home happy?

Nuggets vs Suns Prediction & Pick

Key injuries have resulted in the Nuggets being massive road underdogs tonight. Star center Nikola Jokic is questionable after missing last night's game due to a calf injury and it's hard to imagine Denver risking his health this close to the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Denver Post's Mike Singer reports that Jamal Murray is unlikely to play due to injury management.

Without their top-two scorers, the Nuggets don't stand a chance against the Suns. Devin Booker is averaging 30.2 points over his last 10 games while Deandre Ayton will have room to do some damage without Jokic in the paint. Now that Kevin Durant has returned from injury, I don't see how Denver can keep pace with Phoenix.

Considering how the Nuggets could only muster 88 points without their best player last night, the defensively talented Suns will get the job done tonight.

Final Score Prediction: Suns: 116 | Nuggets: 105

Nuggets vs Suns Best Bet

With how awful the Nuggets looked last night, I like the Suns' chances of covering as home favorites. On top of being a solid 20-16-1 ATS at Footprint Center this season, the Suns have also covered in seven of their last nine games against the Nuggets. With Denver being 4-8 ATS in its last 12 games, there's a good chance that this does become somewhat of a blowout.

Bet: Suns -9.5 (-108)
