Nick Chubb Shares Somber Thoughts on Kareem Hunt Trade Rumors

With the Nov. 1 NFL trade deadline coming up, fans are reminded of the reality that players have feelings too. Being moved can be difficult for the traded individual, but it can also be tough for their teammates, as proven by Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb's feelings regarding fellow RB Kareem Hunt's trade rumors.

Chubb looked quite somber when discussing the trade rumors with the media on Thursday. He told reporters that he "loves" playing with Hunt and that "he's a great teammate." When asked if the duo discussed any trade rumors, the 26-year-old said that they hadn't, understandably.

You can't blame Chubb for feeling sad about the possibility of Hunt being moved. The backfield tandem has been together since Hunt joined the Browns in 2018, accounting for 80% of Chubb's career thus far.

Ever since then, Chubb and Hunt have complimented each other nicely. The Browns have finished no worse than No. 13 as far as rushing yards per game go in the last four seasons, finishing No. 4 in 2020 and 2021 while currently being ranked No. 3 this fall.

Nevertheless, the Browns are 2-5 and there's a good chance that they won't make the playoffs. With Hunt being a free agent at the end of the season, it makes sense that they'd try to get something for him rather than lose him for nothing in free agency.

Despite Chubb being the lead back, Hunt has still been solid this season. The former Toledo rusher has racked up 350 total yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns on 81 touches in seven games. As it stands, the asking price in a potential trade is believed to be a fourth-round pick, as per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

With less than a week until the trade deadline, time will tell if Hunt and Chubb will remain teammates until the end of the season. For now, the former is still on track to suit up for a Halloween edition of Monday Night Football against the rival Cincinnati Bengals.
