New Report Emerges on Willy Adames Trade Rumors
Several Milwaukee Brewers players have recently been floated in trade rumors to begin the offseason. Shortstop Willy Adames has been theorized as one candidate who could be on the move if Milwaukee opts to tear things down for the 2023 campaign.
However, a new report has emerged on Adames' availability.
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic says the chances of an Adames trade "probably are slim." The shortstop is considered a "core player", making a deal unlikely, especially considering how the decision to move a similarly important member in Josh Hader at the deadline negatively impacted the clubhouse.
Adames just finished his fifth season as a pro and first full year with the Brewers after arriving in May of 2021. He was one of the team's most productive bats during a campaign where they struggled at the plate, placing second in hits (134) and home runs (31) while leading this squad in RBIs (98).
The 27-year-old, who's slated to hit free agency in 2025, could certainly net Milwaukee a haul if the team did decide to move him. Yet, it looks like that possibility isn't even on the table as the Brewers look to reload instead of rebuild.
