NBA Playoffs Referees: List of Refs for Heat vs Knicks Game 1 Today


The 2023 NBA Playoffs continue on Sunday, April 30 with an exciting Game 1 showdown between the Miami Heat and New York Knicks in the second round. In such an important contest, fans from both sides are hoping the referees working today don't outshine the players on the court.

With that in mind, here's everything you need to know about the refs for Heat-Knicks.

Heat vs Knicks Game 1 Referees

The three officials assigned to work Sunday's matchup between the Heat and Knicks are Tony Brothers (#25, crew chief), Bill Kennedy (#55, referee) and Tyler Ford (#39, umpire). Brent Barnaky (#36) will be the emergency alternate for Maimi and New York's Game 1 clash. 

Pat Fraher, meanwhile, is serving in the Secaucus-based Replay Center for today's playoff games.

NBA Playoffs Refs

A total of 28 referees have been selected to work the second round of the NBA Playoffs. This group is headlined by veterans Scott Foster, Tony Brothers and Marc Davis.

There are also nine alternates available to fill in if emergencies pop up. They are Brett Barnaky, Nick Buchert, Kevin Cutler, Eric Dalen, J.B. DeRosa, Michael Smith, Scott Twardoski, Justin Van Duyne and Leon Wood.
