Chris Stapleton National Anthem History
Chris Stapleton is set to sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl this year. The country music star is a bit unlike past national anthem singers as there are not any videos of him performing the nation's song out there. Without any trends to follow, it's safe to say his musical style will be the key factor.
National Anthem Prediction & Pick
There's a lot to like about betting Chris Stapleton to draw out the National Anthem past the mark of 122 seconds here. Stapleton reigns from Kentucky and tends to lean on his Souther drawl to extend notes during his songs. It's possible he performs with his guitar, too, which could lead to a solo or two.
A few raspy, slow riffs from Stapleton will likely be all it takes, especially if the 44-year-old opts to go on an acoustic route. Recent history also suggests betting the over is the way to go considering it has cashed in three of the last four Super Bowls. The average time during that span is 119.3 seconds.
It might cut it close, but I think backing the over is the right move.
