Mountain West Championship Fresno State v Boise State Prediction and Odds 2022

Our official Mountain West Championship prediction was taken from The Duel's Fresno State v Boise State betting preview.

Fresno State has won 7-straight games. The Bulldogs last loss was Oct. 8 at Boise State, 40-20. But Fresno State played that game without their two captains, senior QB Jake Haener and safety Evan Williams.

The Bulldogs and Broncos lead the Mountain West in scoring at 30 points per game with Fresno State averaging 407 yards per game and Boise State a more balanced 387 yards per game. Fresno State QB Jake Haener averages a league-high 304 passing yards per game with 73% completions and a 17:3 TD-INT ratio playing in 8 games. Haener has passed for more than 315 yards in six games this season including against Pac-12 Oregon State's top defense.

Haener is wearing protective padding on his ankle from his high-ankle sprain. Monitor the status of sack leader DE David Perales, who left last week's 30-0 win over Wyoming with a similar injury.

Boise State has rushed for at least 200 yards in three straight games, and 316 against Fresno State. But the rematch is much tougher with Fresno State QB Haener in the lineup. Boise State's defense has been stellar holding Mountain West opponents to 94 yards per game below their season average. Fresno State's defense has allowed just 334 YPG and 14 points per game in their last four contests.
