Michigan Former 4-Star Wide Receiver Enters Transfer Portal

Updated:
It's safe to say the 2020-21 college football season and expectations in Ann Arbor certainly didn't pan out as planned for one of the sport's most storied programs. Head coach Jim Harbaugh's job security seemingly wavered by the week as he led his Michigan Wolverines to a rocky 2-4 finish.
Unfortunately for Harbaugh and Wolverine faithful alike, the path to redemption in 2021 got a little harder with some tough news this week as well after former 4-Star wide receiver recruit Giles Jackson entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Giles Jackson Transfer
While, of course, Jackson simply entering his name into the portal doesn't necessarily mean he is as good as gone, it's not a good sign by any means. Jackson came into Ann Arbor as a highly-touted 4-Star recruit from the Class of 2019 with an impressive 0.9004 composite rating, according to 247Sports.com.
Jackson was also a significant contributor to a 2020 Michigan campaign that progressed without their top WR weapon in Nico Collins last season. Jackson finished third on the team in receptions with 15 and third in receiving yards with 167.
This potential absence of Jackson could give A.J. Henning (another 4-Star WR recruit from the Class of 2020) a shot at more run in 2021, but Jackson's presence will certainly be missed for a team looking to bounce back next season.
