Michael Pittman Jr. Injury Update Gives Parris Campbell and Ashton Dulin Fantasy Outlooks Value in Week 2
Poised for another top-12 fantasy performance in Week 2, Michael Pittman Jr. fantasy managers are frustrated after the Indianapolis Colts' injury report surfaced on Thursday.
Pittman was downgraded to a non-participant Thursday. He also logged a limited participant label on Wednesday.
This injury designation clouds Pittman Jr.'s fantasy outlook heading into Week 2, while offering some value for backups Parris Campbell and Ashton Dulin.
Michael Pittman Jr. Injury Update
Fantasy managers need to pay close attention to the Colts' remaining injury reports, but this is not the right direction to be heading for another explosive fantasy performance like he had in Week 1. Pittman finished as WR5 and turned 13 targets into 9 receptions for 121 yards and 1 TD.
Alec Pierce has also been listed as questionable because of a concussion.
Ashton Dulin Fantasy Outlook
If Pittman or Pierce, or both playmakers are unable to go, there will be some sneaky value for Parris Campbell and Ashton Dulin.
Matt Ryan looked to Dulin six times in Week 1 and the fourth-year pro tallied 3 receptions for 46 yards. More importantly, Dulin saw a pair of red zone targets.
Dulin put together a versatile stat line in Week 1. Not only were his 2 red zone targets intriguing, but he also logged a 15.8-yard average depth of target (ADOT). Ryan looked his way on deep balls several times. Deep threats are a jackpot, but have huge upside from the fantasy perspective.
Parris Campbell Fantasy Outlook
Campbell is the slightly more reliable option of the two backups. His 57 career targets out-paced Dulin by more than 20 with both wideouts entering the league in 2019. Used as a slot threat in Week 1, Campbell put up an ADOT of just 5.0 yards. He saw 4 targets and turned in 3 receptions for 37 yards.
Neither of these names is exactly inspiring from a fantasy perspective. But, should both Pittman and Pierce miss time in Week 2, there will be targets available. RB Jonathan Taylor would also project for a monster week considering the lack of proven wide receiver depth.
