Michael Harris Scratched From Friday's Lineup With Concerning Injury

Updated:

The Atlanta Braves are in the home stretch of Spring Training. With Opening Day right around the corner, the team is hoping to avoid any last-minute issues that could arise.

Unfortunately, Atlanta learned of one small concern on Friday that pertains to stud outfielder Michael Harris II.

Michael Harris Injury Update

Harris was scratched from the starting lineup against the Boston Red Sox due to back tightness after being penciled in to start. Outfielder Sam Hilliard is scheduled to take his place.

Right now, the 2022 NL Rookie of the Year's injury isn't something to be overly worried about. He's been a regular part of the lineup recently, and this is the first time this issue has popped up.

Harris has been solid in Spring Training for Atlanta, slashing .237/.310/.474 across 38 at-bats. He's recorded 2 home runs and 4 RBIs along with 2 stolen bases in 14 games.

Though this isn't the biggest deal at the current moment, Harris's back issue still poses a risk to impact his Opening Day availability at the very least. Hopefully it's just a case of the Braves giving their rising star a day off, but fans should keep an eye out for updates in meantime.
