Mets Fans Will Love Projected 2022 Win Total

Updated:
It's safe to say the New York Mets have failed to live up to expectations during their current five-year playoff drought. Big name players have both come and gone, yet the same mistakes seem to be plaguing the team. The 2022 MLB season has all the makings of a huge bounce back year, though.
Mets fans will love the projected win totals released on FanDuel Sportsbook, too. The Mets have a win total set at 91.5 and finishing above that mark would obviously be a substantial improvement (77 wins in 2021). The Mets also have odds set at +155 to win the NL East division.
New York Mets Projected Win Total
The Mets' win total ranks sixth across the MLB and is tied with the Atlanta Braves for the highest mark in the NL East. Manager Buck Showalter's squad checks in above a 2021 division winner in the Milwaukee Brewers and only trails the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL. That is some high praise.
Of course, one of the biggest free agent signings of the offseason included three-time Cy Young winner Max Scherzer making his way to the Big Apple. He joins Jacob deGrom in what is the scariest one-two punch in baseball. Both pitchers own a career ERA under 3.20 and a career WHIP under 1.10. While health always remains a concern, this duo will be frightening when pitching on back-to-back days.
Keep in mind the Mets didn't only improve at the pitching level. The front office went out and grabbed speedy outfielder Starling Marte and veteran infielder Eduardo Escobar as well. Marte led all players with 47 stolen bases in 2021 and Escobar has racked up 228 RBI since the start of the 2019 season.
The Mets have proven that they are all-in and have every intention of winning a World Series title in the next few years. Being able to surpass the 90-win mark would be a great first step in doing so.
