Marquez Valdes-Scantling Calls Out Texans Player for Dirty Hit on Patrick Mahomes

Updated:

The Kansas City Chiefs' surprisingly tight contest against the Houston Texans in Week 15 featured a ton of controversy. One moment that went under the radar was Texans safety Jalen Pitre hitting Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the head with an unnatural move that should've drawn a flag.

Though Pitre went unpunished on the play, Kansas City wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling didn't let him get away with it scot-free.

Valdes-Scantling was made aware on Twitter of Pitre's apparent punch of Mahomes from Sunday's game. He was clearly shocked the refs let the Houston safety get away "with a left hook" in an "actual football game."

This kind of dangerous act is simply egregious and should've been penalized. That type of motion from Pitre's left arm was downright dangerous considering he aimed right at Mahomes' head. Given the NFL's emphasis on protecting players from brain injuries, this is the sort of play that should draw scrutiny.

It's great to see MVS bring awareness to this unnecessary act by Pitre. Even though he's a rookie, this can't just be chalked up to inexperience.
