Madden 2023 Super Bowl Prediction Picks Winner of Chiefs vs Eagles SB 57

The Madden NFL franchise has a long history with the NFL, including the Super Bowl. The popular football video game is a usual highlight during Super Bowl week, offering fans a simulation of the big game before it happens. The tradition has even turned into insights for sports bettors.

On Monday before the big Super Bowl 57 matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, Madden released their official 2023 prediction.

Madden Super Bowl Prediction 2023

The Madden 23 simulation has the 1.5-point favorite Eagles winning, and winning big in Super Bowl 57. The final score sees Philadelphia come away with a 31-17 victory over Patrick Mahomes and his crew. Unlike years past, the official reveal of Madden's simulation didn't come with a ton of details. Instead, Madden shared a clever hype video starring Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson.

We do know a few things. Patrick Mahomes is expected to complete 29-of-39 passes for 249 yards and just 1 touchdown. His defensive counterpart, leading Chiefs edge rusher Chris Jones, picked up a pair of sacks as well.

But, the rest of the video is dominated by the Eagles. A.J. Brown leads the way for Philadelphia with 8 receptions for 114 yards and 1 score. They also highlight a short touchdown catch by DeVonta Smith.

Madden Super Bowl 57 Prediction

There are some interesting notes in the prediction, notably the highlight by C. J. Gardner-Johnson. In the video, CGJ is wearing the number 38 instead of his proper #23. Luckily for Madden, the simulation projects CGJ to pick up 4 tackles and 1 interception.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts' stats are absent from the highlight video. He is, however, seen throwing at least 2 touchdowns in the contest (1 to A.J. Brown and 1 to DeVonta Smith). Brown ends the day with 114 yards, so we know Hurts puts up at least 100 yards through the air.

Eagles fans are eager to know how much damage Hurts can do with his legs, especially considering Jones nabs him for a pair of sacks.

The simulation follows pretty closely with FanDuel Sportsbook's Super Bowl odds, in terms of the over/under. FanDuel has an over/under projected at 50.5 points. With this 31-17 victory, the total finishes under at 48. This is nothing like the spread though as FanDuel has held the betting line at 1.5 points since the odds opened last weekend.

Madden Super Bowl Prediciton History

Madden is 1-3 over the last four Super Bowls, getting the Chiefs' victory in 2020 right, but all three of the New England Patriots' 2019 win, Buccaneers' 2021 victory and Rams' win in 2022 wrong, so anything can happen when Kansas City and Philadelphia square off.

Last year's prediction was close in terms of scoring, though Madden picked the wrong side to come out on top. The video game projected Cincinnati to win 24-21, but it was LA that claimed a win 23-20.
