Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Bowl Game History (Wins, Appearances and All-Time Record)

Updated:

Bowl game season is an exciting time in college football. Schools across the nation will battle it out for postseason glory and a chance to end their year on a high note.

One team that's no stranger to playing in bowl games is the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. Here's everything you need to know about Louisiana's bowl history before making its next appearance.

Louisiana Bowl Game History

Louisiana joined NCAA Division I ranks in 1978, but didn't make their first bowl appearance until 2011. The Ragin' Cajuns are settling into a regularity as a bowl participant now, though. They have made eight more bowl appearances since that time, missing only in 2015 and 2017.

The Ragin' Cajuns made their first bowl appearance in the 2011 New Orleans Bowl under head coach Mark Hudspeth. Louisiana faced San Diego State and earned a hard-fought 32-30 victory. Louisiana ripped off three more wins in the following postseasons to begin with a perfect 4-0 bowl record.

Louisiana's most recent bowl appearance came in the 2022 Independence Bowl. The Ragin' Cajuns faced Houston in that one and unfortunately were defeated 23-16 by the Cougars.
