One team that's no stranger to playing in bowl games is the Liberty Flames. Here's everything you need to know about Liberty's bowl history before making its next appearance.

Liberty Bowl Game History

Liberty doesn't have an extensive bowl history since the school only became eligible in 2019 after joining the FBS the year prior. However, the Flames have had a consistent presence in the postseason since then.

Liberty's first bowl appearance was in 2019 against Georgia Southern in the Cure Bowl. Head coach Hugh Freeze led his team to a 23-16 victory, securing the program its first-ever bowl win and kick-starting a run of postseason success.

Freeze's team returned to the Cure Bowl in 2020 and faced Coastal Carolina. The Flames eventually took down the Chanticleers 37-34 in a thrilling overtime battle.

Liberty's most recent postseason appearance was in the 2022 Boca Raton Bowl against Toledo. The Flames ultimately dropped that contest, losing 21-19 to the Rockets.
