Latest Julio Jones Injury Update is Very Concerning News for Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are dealing with a ravaged wide receiver corps heading into Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers. The loss of Mike Evans and expected absence of Chris Godwin could lead to Julio Jones being the No. 1 option, but he's been hampered by a knee injury.
The latest update on Jones is concerning news for Tampa Bay.
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported on Sunday that Jones is dealing with a partially torn PCL. The injury isn't severe enough as of right now to require surgery, so the veteran still has a chance at suiting up on Sunday Night Football.
This is still far from the most encouraging diagnosis for Jones, who's been hampered by injuries in the latter part of his career. His PCL strain is likely grade one or two since it doesn't need surgery at the moment, there's still a real possibility it limits him going forward.
Jones looked like he could make an impact for the Bucs in 2022 after joining the team late in the offseason. He racked up 69 yards on just three receptions against the Dallas Cowboys before popping up on the Week 2 injury report and ultimately sitting out.
New arrival Cole Beasley could end up being one of Tom Brady's top weapons for this SNF showdown. NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook project the Bucs as slight 1.5-point favorites over Green Bay.
