Jim Harbaugh has been one of the most polarizing coaches in football, no matter what level he has coached. His fiery sideline personality has the camera on him at all times, often stealing the spotlight of whatever team he is coaching, both good and bad.

And while he is one of the most well known and highest-paid head coaches in college football, his bowl record certainly doesn't show it.

Harbaugh has been a head coach in college football for nine seasons. In his first stop, he was the head coach for Stanford from 2007-10. After a stint in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers, he as been the Michigan head coach since 2015.

Over those nine seasons as a head coach at the college level, he has led his teams to six bowl games, with a seventh coming up in the 2020 VRBO Citrus Bowl, but Harbaugh has just a 2-4 record to show for it.

Michigan Bowl Record

Harbaugh has been able to lead the Wolverines to a bowl game in all five of his seasons as a coach in Ann Arbor, but his only win came in his first year (2015). Harbaugh's Michigan teams have a 1-3 bowl game record heading into this year's matchup with the No. 13 Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2020 Citrus Bowl. Overall, Michigan has gone 21-25 in the program's 46 all-time bowl appearances.

By most accounts, Harbaugh's time in Michigan has been a successful one. He has led the Wolverines to a 47-17 overall record and a bowl game every year since taking over in 2015. For most programs, this would be more than enough to keep a position indefinitely.

However, with the standards placed on him by his alma mater in this Michigan program, along with the recruits he has been able to bring in, some believe that Harbaugh's 0-5 record against Ohio State and 1-3 bowl record could warrant a change at the position in the near future.
