Isaiah McGuire Complete NFL Draft Profile (Pass Rush Upside Too Impressive to Deny)

Updated:
The 2023 NFL Draft is finally here and one prospect worth keeping an eye on is Missouri's Isaiah McGuire. The 21-year-old defensive lineman was one of the SEC's most disruptive players last fall, leaving time to tell if he can find similar success at the pro level.
Here's everything you need to know about Isaiah McGuire heading into the 2023 NFL Draft.

Isaiah McGuire Scouting Report
Isaiah McGuire found ways to drive opposing defenses crazy throughout the 2022 campaign. On top of racking up 40 total tackles, the Missouri DL ranked second in the SEC when it came to tackles for a loss (14.0) and third in sacks (8.5). He also forced a pair of fumbles.
McGuire's 6-foot-4, 268-pound frame makes him the perfect size to take the next step of his career. He's demonstrated an impressive burst of speed whenever the ball is snapped and effectively uses his hands to get by blockers. He'll likely be a popular player wherever he goes due to his non-stop motor.
There are areas for McGuire to improve upon, though. He's a bit of a project, especially when it comes to working on his pass-rush technique. While he's great at bull rushing, he tends to slow down as the play goes on. Better consistency with his hands is also needed.
Isaiah McGuire NFL Draft Prediction
A quick glance shows how Isaiah McGuire's draft stock is all over the place. On one hand, three experts see him being selected somewhere in Rounds 3 or 4. On the other, two mock drafts don't expect him to get drafted at all over the three-day event.
Nevertheless, McGuire's upside is too high for him to go undrafted this week. I agree with ESPN and Sporting News that he'd be a good fit for the Cincinnati Bengals. While the Bengals already have the likes of Sam Hubbard and Trey Hendrickson, more depth never hurts, especially after tallying the fourth-fewest sacks in 2022.
While a third-round selection might be too high for some experts, McGuire may not last long if other teams believe in his ceiling. A 92nd overall selection seems more than fitting for the Missouri stud.
Prediction: Cincinnati Bengals (Round 3, 92nd overall)
