The Atlanta Hawks (27-28) and Phoenix Suns (30-26) are set to go head-to-head at Stata Farm Arena in one of four NBA matchups scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 9.

The Hawks return home after going 2-3 on a five-game road trip, most recently falling 116-107 to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday. On the other hand, the Suns are buzzing after extending their winning streak to three games with a 116-112 victory over the Brooklyn Nets earlier this week.

Can the Hawks return to the .500 mark with a win tonight? Or will the Suns keep the momentum rolling in A-Town?

Hawks vs. Suns Betting Trends

  • The Hawks have covered the spread 23 times in 52 games with a set spread.
  • The Suns have been underdogs by 4 points or more 12 times this year and are 8-4 ATS in those matchups.
  • Hawks games have finished with a final combined score above the over/under 31 times out of 55 chances this season.
  • Suns games this year have hit the over 26 times in 55 opportunities (47.3%).
  • Atlanta has done a better job covering the spread on the road (14-15-0) than it has at home (9-14-0).
  • Phoenix has been better against the spread at home (16-12-0) than on the road (14-13-0) this season.

Hawks vs. Suns Prediction & Pick

Momentum is on the Suns' side, but they'll be shorthanded tonight. Kevin Durant isn't ready to make his Phoenix debut just yet while Devin Booker is back out of the lineup due to rest. With Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and Jae Crowder on their way to Brooklyn, there isn't much to like about the Suns outside of Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton.

The Hawks have proven that they can handle the Suns, picking up a 132-100 blowout win when the teams met at Footprint Center last week. With Phoenix also only being 7-13 as the underdog this season, it's even easier to side with tonight's odds.

As long as the Hawks don't make a ton of mistakes, they shouldn't have any issues beating the shorthanded Suns.

Final Score Prediction: Hawks: 124 | Suns: 110

Hawks vs. Suns Best Bet

When it comes to the best bet, I'm sticking with the total going over 228.5 points. For starters, the over is 15-12-1 when the Suns are on the road and 13-11 when the Hawks are at home this season.

Secondly, the over is 8-4 in Atlanta's last 12 games while Phoenix has combined for over 228.5 points in four of its last seven outings. With the over also being hit in six of the last seven Hawks-Suns clashes, I'm even more convinced that the over is the right way to go tonight.

Bet: Over 228.5 Points (-110)
