Has Arkansas Ever Won a National Championship?

Updated:

The Arkansas Razorbacks have shocked a lot of people by making it to the 2022-23 NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16. Having said that, this is hardly new territory for the Razorbacks, who've been one of the final 16 teams standing in each of the last three tournaments.

March Madness is filled with twists and turns, though. While Arkansas is flying high at the moment, its dream could end at the snap of a finger.

If the impressive run continues, would this be the first time that Arkansas fans celebrate a national championship victory?

Arkansas National Championship History

Arkansas has won one NCAA men's basketball National Championship in the past. That victory came back in 1994 with a 76-72 win over Duke. Other than that, the Razorbacks have only played in the championship contest one other time, falling to UCLA in 1995.

This year marks the 14th time that Arkansas is competing in the Sweet 16 and the third in a row. Considering how the Razorbacks advanced to the Elite 8 in both 2021 and 2022, fans expect similar results this time around.

Despite some impressive runs over the last few years, Arkansas has left its fanbase wanting more. The Razorbacks have a resilient this year, leaving time to tell if their recent shortcomings provide enough experience to finally put their championship drought in the rearview.
