Giants Get Encouraging Azeez Ojulari Injury Update

Updated:

The New York Giants came away with an impressive win in their Wild Card Round playoff game on the road against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. However, that victory didn't come without a cost.

Azeez Olujari Injury Update

The Giants lost one of their best defensive players to injury when linebacker Azeez Ojulari left the game early after he was hit in the thigh. He was unable to return to the game, but early reports following the win were positive. Ojulari was seen walking without much of a limp after the game.

Tests on Monday will confirm the extent of Ojulari's injury and presumptively his status for New York's Divisional Round game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The former 2021 second-round pick instantly became a big part of the Giants' defense, putting up 8.0 sacks in 17 games in 2021 and 5.5 in just seven games in 2022. Needless to say, Ojulari is one of, if not the best, pass rushers that New York has.

If he can't go on Saturday against Philadelphia, that will be a huge blow to the team's defense, which will have to find a way to rattle Jalen Hurts in order to pull off an upset.

The Giants are currently 7.5-point road underdogs against the Eagles, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest NFL odds.
