France World Cup History: Appearances, Wins and All-Time Record for Les Bleus Soccer

France's men's national soccer team is finally back in the FIFA World Cup for the seventh consecutive tournament. France officially kicks off its run with a match against Australia on Tuesday, the first of three for Les Bleus versus Group D opponents.

Here's everything you need about France's history in the World Cup before play begins.

France World Cup Appearances

This year marks the 16th all-time appearance for the French men's national soccer team. France previously qualified for this tournament in 1930, 1934, 1938, 1954, 1958, 1966, 1978, 1982, 1986, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018.

Les Bleus' appearance in 2018 was their most recent prior to this year and wound up being one of their greatest performances as the French won the World Cup for the first time since 1998.

The 2026 World Cup will be France's 17th appearance if the country qualifies.
