FanDuel Fantasy Golf Picks for the Open Championship 2022 at St. Andrews

Updated:

Finally, the fourth and final major of the golf calendar has arrived, and it's a big one this year. The Open Championship returns to St. Andrews for the 150th edition.

Per usual, the field is loaded with all of the world's top golfers, including Tiger Woods. Let's take a look at three players to consider for your fantasy team ahead of the 2022 Open Championship.

Open Championship 2022 Fantasy Picks

Xander Schauffele Fantasy

There is no hotter golfer on tour right now than Xander Schauffele. He's on a string of seven straight top-20 finishes and within those seven starts has four top-five finishes, three of which are wins. That includes back-to-back wins in his last two starts at the Travelers Championship and Genesis Scottish Open. While he doesn't have the experience that others do at St. Andrews, he's still seen some success at the British Open before, with a T2 finish in 2018. Despite the higher price tag, I'm going with Schauffele to continue his hot streak and be the lead horse on the squad this week.

Collin Morikawa Fantasy

Sure Collin Morikawa has missed two of his last three cuts, but that is now presenting him at a better price than expected. What's to be noted about Morikawa's season is that he's placed in the top-five in two of the three majors this year and clearly can handle himself against the most elite fields. He is, after all, the defending champion of this event, albeit at a different course.

Open Championship Sleepers 2022

Justin Rose Fantasy

The veteran Englishman comes in at solid value considering his history in this event. The last time Rose played this event at St. Andrews he finished 6th. He also followed that up with a T2 in 2018, not at St. Andrews, though. Overall, in his Open Championship career, Rose has 9 top-25 finishes and 3 top-10 finishes. He's coming into the event after three consecutive cuts made, and with his experience in both this event and overall, he can be competing for a trophy on Sunday, no matter what his odds are.
