Falcons Reveal Amazing Throwback Uniforms for 2022 Season
Expectations are low for the Atlanta Falcons ahead of the 2022 NFL season. After an underwhelming campaign last year, they finally opted to enter a rebuild going forward. They might be tough to watch at times this year, but at least they'll look good doing it.
On Thursday, the Falcons revealed the throwback uniforms that they'll be rocking during the 2022 campaign. The organization is bringing back its red helmets to pair with the black jersey for the first time in nearly a decade and it's safe to say that the combination looks amazing.
Atlanta Falcons Throwback Uniforms
Falcons fans won't have to wait too long to see their favorite players in the new threads. Atlanta tweeted out "10.16.22" along with the video, indicating that the team will debut the stunning look Week 6 home game against the San Francisco 49ers.
The helmet's colors were inspired by Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia when the Falcons joined the league in 1966 until 1969. They brought back the red helmet and black jersey combo in 2009, but that only lasted four years until the NFL ruled that teams could only carry one helmet.
That rule has since been lifted this year, hence why the Falcons are bringing back the look for the 2022 NFL season. It's a great mix between an old school look with a modern feel, making it interesting to see just how long Atlanta keeps these uniforms around.
Falcons Super Bowl Odds
The Falcons are projected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL next season, so it's nice that their fans have new uniforms to look forward to. FanDuel Sportsbook has Atlanta having second-worst Super Bowl LVII odds (+25000), ranking only ahead of the Houston Texans (+30000).
