Devin Singletary Reacts to Bills RB Trade Rumors Before Deadline

Updated:
The 2022 NFL trade deadline is right around the corner and the Buffalo Bills are reportedly in the mark for another running back. The Bills have been linked to the likes of superstar RB Alvin Kamara over the last few days, leaving fans wondering how a deal could effect No. 1 rusher Devin Singletary.
While trade rumors can be a distraction to some, Singletary is keeping his head high. The veteran rusher spoke with The Athletic's Tim Graham after Sunday's victory against the Green Bay Packers, saying that "there’s always going to be noise" when it comes to trade rumors and that it's something he's dealt with "since I came in."
Buffalo Bills Trade Rumors
Even though the Bills have one of the NFL's best offenses, their running attack is about average. One glaring issue is that quarterback Josh Allen accounts for 35.6% (306) of the team's 860 rushing yards, whereas Singletary makes up for slightly more than that (323, 37.6%).
In other words, it's easy to see why the Bills would want to bring in someone like Kamara. The New Orleans Saints' talented dual-threat rusher has more rushing (413) and receiving yards (287) than anyone in Buffalo's backfield. Furthermore, Kamara's three total TDs are more than what the Bills' RBs have combined (two).
Kamara isn't the first stud RB that's been linked to the Bills. Buffalo had their eyes set on Christian McCaffrey before he was traded to the San Francisco 49ers, but general manager Brandon Beane wasn't willing to meet the Carolina Panthers' asking price.
Having said that, Buffalo's RBs had a solid Week 8 performance that may have proven outside help isn't needed. Singletary and rookie RB James Cook combined for 159 total yards from scrimmage on 21 touches (19 carries, two catches). If they can do that consistently, their team's backfield situation should be fine.
The good news is that Bills Mafia won't have to wait too long to find out if their team is bringing in a new RB. This year's trade deadline goes into effect on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. ET.
