De'Vondre Campbell Makes Intriguing Jordan Love Comments Amid Aaron Rodgers' Struggles

Updated:
It's no secret Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has struggled this season. During his costly three-interception game in Week 9, some fans argued for backup Jordan Love to get some playing time, which wasn't the first time those calls have popped up in 2022.
Following that contest, star defender De'Vondre Campbell had some intriguing comments about Love's abilities.
Campbell made it clear he thinks highly of Love. '"He's a starting quarterback," Campbell said. "He's better than a lot of starting quarterbacks."
It's not fair to say Campbell is taking a shot at Rodgers. Any praise of Love isn't indicative of doubts in the team's current starter. However, the timing of the comments is interesting at the very least.
Rodgers has been a shell of his four-time MVP self in 2022. His difficult year hit a new low in Week 9 against the Detroit Lions, as he threw two picks in the red zone that proved detrimental during a 15-9 loss. It'd be no surprise if Campbell and the defense is a little frustrated with Rodgers after his turnovers wasted their strong showing on Sunday.
Head coach Matt LaFleur has stated there isn't a QB controversy and no changes are planned. However, after losing five straight and with a tough upcoming schedule, this season could quickly get away from Green Bay. If this downward spiral continues, the pleas for Love to see the field will only grow louder.
