Dayton Moore Gives Infuriating Review of Cal Eldred

Updated:
The Kansas City Royals' performance during the 2022 season has been nothing short of disappointing. KC's offensive struggles have already started to cost people their jobs, but the pitching staff has been equally bad, putting the spotlight on Cal Eldred.
However, Royals president Dayton Moore remains committed to the team's pitching coach despite the poor results.
Moore said Eldred is doing an "amazing job" for the current last-place team in the AL Central. The Royals exec then puzzlingly highlighted Eldred's "tremendous" attitude, as if that matters more than the team's dreadful pitching compared to the rest of MLB.
Royals fans are, rightfully, dismayed at Moore sticking by Eldred's side. This staff ranks third worst in team ERA, dead last in strikeouts, and third worst in WHIP. These are not the markers of "amazing" coaching.
Results remain supreme, and there's nothing that says Eldred is leading his group in the right direction. It's infuriating for Moore to act like this isn't the case. As long as he tries to convince fans of a different reality, Kansas City will continue to suffer.
